I absolutely love everything from Lush! It’s amazing, and I just want to try out every bath bomb at least once. My favourite so far is one called Phoenix Rising, it smells like cinnamon and leaves your bath stained purple for days! I try to make my bath bombs last longer by cutting them in half, so I can get two baths out of each one. Well, when I cut into the Phoenix I just fell in love with combination of colours. I took a picture and then recreated it on my nails, weird? maybe?!
Today’s nails were an experiment, I really love simple tie dye. I have this dress which is just a blue and white tie dye pattern and I really wanted to try and replicate this. It didn’t end up looking exactly right, but I love how it turned out, all swirly!
Today is a nice and simple mani to show off another one of China Glaze’s glitters from their Electric Nights collection.
Weird name, a friend shared with me a video of sugar spun nails in rainbow colours. I have seen this technique before but seeing this video gave me an idea. I try not to copy other people’s nails but rather use their idea to inspire me to do something similar. I also have to add that these nails took a long time, my friends often ask how long I spend doing my nail art and the honest is that it never takes as long as you think….but these nails have a long wait before even starting!!
Wow! Just wow…That was my reaction to China Glaze’s new collection Electric Nights, but more specifically to 3 of their polishes which I had to purchase straight away of course! The one I am wearing today is Point me to the Party, it has the feel of an indie polish which is so fun!
So sometimes when trying things for the first time there can be a lot of trial and error, it’s not always bad though. Today I tried a blobicure manicure, which is basically letting your wet polish spread on your nail into a mosaic looking effect. The first nail I used it on I accidentally dropped on too much polish, as I knew I was just going to remove it I decided to just swirl it around first. Well I fell in love with how that looked and recreated it on the rest of my nails!
I generally always love the nails I paint, just because I’m a nail art fan so why wouldn’t I? But todays nails feel extra special, I can’t stop looking at them, they feel daring, like my nails whipped off their one piece and got brave in a bikini!
When I first got my hands on Barry M’s nail art pens I doodled straight away on my nails. One of the first doodles I did was a city skyline. I never tried it again properly until today, and I love it.
I’ve seen a lot of these reverse gradients going around the nail blogs lately, they confuse the eye as you can’t quite work out what is going on!
I wanted a simple mani today, and whenever I want something simple and pretty on my nails I always turn to nail stamping!
